13 city, 28 highway. That’s what I pull on average in this 1994 FWD V8 PLC. That gap is massive

Is it the regular one, or is it the
et cetera
one?

Sounds par for the course. Cars with the 3800 are very similar. Both drink deeply in low gears and sip lightly at speed in high gear. Both Northstar and 3800 share 4 speed slushboxes with very long gears (Northstar one is beefed up for those 275-300 horsies). I had a 3800 and can attest to the wide gap in consumption in those 90s GM barges. They were among the last of the living rooms on wheels for the common man/woman

It’s a heavy car. I wish I’d bought one instead of the Riviera back then.

That’s a big gap, and not much worse than my Eldo

It’s under two tons!
Barely, but it counts

Ah, but it feels bigger, and that’s what really counts!

At least that’s what my wife sez

That’s not much worse than my FWD 1.8L Integra lol. 18-22 city 30 Hwy.

It’s the city that eats me. 13 is immensely worse than 18

Apparently the Northstar engine stays healthier if it’s driven hard every so often.
Are you driving her hard? Are you giving her all the throttle she will take?

My ‘98 Bonnie got 25-26mpg in mixed driving with the 3800 and the 4T65HD.
My ‘94 Century gets 25-27mpg in mixed driving with the 2200SFI and the Turbo 125 (3T40).
